The star of the day was Tillakaratne Dilshan, who played a brilliant knock and hit boundaries in all parts of the ground. While he was batting Indian bowling looked pedestrian and it seemed as if the bowlers had given up all hopes of getting a wicket. It was only after wily Zaheer Khan took up the Indian cause and bowled some short ones that Sri Lankans were softened a bit. Dilshan lost his wicket while trying to pull Zaheer over midwicket, while Sanggakara was surprised by a rising delivery and he hooked it only to be caught by Sachin Tendulkar at deep square leg boundary.
