India on Tuesday went on to score the highest ever ODI total against Sri Lanka powered by a Virender Sehwag blitzkrieg and equally flamboyant innings by little master Sachin Tendulkar and skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Sachin Tendulkar played an equally stylish cameo and made 69 runs, while Dhoni also joined the run feast and came up the order to make 72 runs. Sehwag and Tendulkar added 153 runs for the first wicket and after that he continued his pyrotechnics with Dhoni and added 156 runs for the second wicket. Tendulkar's inning of 69 came in 63 balls and it comprised one six and ten fours. He was bowled by an in-cutter by Dilhara Fernando, whereas Sehwag's crucial wicket was claimed by Chanaka Welgedara, who had him caught by Tilakratne Dilshan. Dhoni was also claimed by Fernando at 72 runs, but by than he had hit seven fours and three sixes.
