Sehwag lost out on a triple century in the third India vs Sri Lanka test match. He was just seven runs short of the triple ton when he was intercepted by Muttaih Murlitharan with a return catch.
HOPES FOR a triple ton from Virender Sehwag were dashed to the ground, when the batsman just minutes away from scoring the first test triple ton, was felled by a ball caught and bowled by Muralitharan. He walked back to the pavilion after scoring 293 runs on the third day of the third and final Test match with India vs Sri Lanka.
Sehwag who had scored 284 runs in the last day's play, could only add nine more to it before he bowled over by a return catch from off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan.
Currently, at the end of 103 overs, Right hand Batsmen VVS Laxman and Sachin Tendulkar are playing with India at 522 runs for the loss of three wickets. Laxman has scored 15 runs and Tendulkar has made 41 runs.
