India wins Asia Cup Cricket 2010, defeated Sri Lanka: match details
After fifteen years of drought, team India finally lifted the glittering Asia Cup Cricket trophy at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on Thursday June 24 night. India defeated Sri Lanka by a margin of 81 runs.
AFTER FIFTEEN years of drought, team India finally lifted the glittering Asia Cup Cricket trophy at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on Thursday June 24. India defeated Sri Lanka by a margin of 81 runs. It was fifth Asia Cup trophy for India and the fourth win in seven tournament finals under the captaincy of MS Dhoni.

In the 44.4 over, when Ravindra Jadeja took the final wicket of Sri Lankan innings as Muralitharan fell, Indian players and fans started cheering. Murali got a thin nick through to Dhoni. Earlier in the Asia Cup Cricket 2010 final match between Ind vs Sri Lanka, Indian speed star Ashish Nehra begged four wickets of Sri Lankan team including most precious wicket of Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene. Sri Lankan team was all out for 187 runs. For the Sri Lanka, Chamara Kapugedera insisted Indian bowling attack and scored not out 55 runs.

Earlier in the afternoon, Indian Skipper M S Dhoni won the toss in the final of Asia Cup Cricket 2010 against Sri Lanka. India scored 268 runs for 6 wickets in 50 overs. Indian opener Dinesh Karthik scored highest 66 runs, whereas, Rohit Sharma scored 41 and Dhoni scored 38 runs.

Final Score:
India 268/5 in 50 overs
Sri Lanka 187 all out in 44.4 overs.

Dinesh Karthik was declared Man of the Match and Shahid Afridi, who made two brilliant 100's was chosen as the Player of the Tournament.
