Indian Army celebrates 65th Army Day
Indian army celebrates 15 January every year as Army Day to celebrate the taking over ceremony of Lieutenant General KM Cariappa becoming the first Indian Chief of Army Staff. The day is celebrated through a parade ceremony, and the chief of army staff addresses his troops communicating his vision and tasks to achieve.

THE ARMY has lived up to the principle of “nation before self” since its inception. Many a time, the freedom of the nation has been intact with blood and sacrifice of innumerable and unrecognised soldiers who stood up to keep the sovereignty of the nation.

The army upholdes its ethos, customs and fine tradition with immaculate discipline, utmost scarifies and unparallel professionalism. It has always been a benchmark to look up for the highest tradition of putting the Nation before Self.

In addition to swiftly responding towards national distress calls, it also carries out duties of holding guard on every inch of land and having a constant vigil 24×7 and 365 days a year - putting their life in danger, and this has indebted the entire nation.

The harsh living conditions of rugged mountains, scorching heat of desserts of Rajasthan and coupled with sub-zero temperate of Siachin glacier has never freezed the indomitable will and passion of our soldiers to ensure territorial integrity.

This day is significant to pay our reverence and respect to all the soldiers deployed in the line of duty with assurance that the entire nation is backing them up and their grief is being equally shared by all of us. They need empathy not sympathy, as has been displayed by our political leaders. We salute to you all for your utmost sacrifice you made to defend the country.
