Indian bowling looks strong for England tour
With the Test series starting on July 21 in England, the Indian bowlers are gearing up for the series and are pumped up to bowl in English conditions. Zaheer Khan, Ishant Sharma, Praveen Kumar, Sreesanth and Harbhajan Singh would be playing important role

THE INDIAN team is eager to win yet another series away from home as they prepare for their upcoming tour against England starting July 21. The Indian bowlers have played a very big hand in many of these matches and are expected to continue with their wicket taking ways. The Indian team has been bolstered by the return of Zaheer Khan from an injury. He would be well supported by Ishant Sharma, Praveen Kumar, Sreesanth, Munaf Patel, Amit Mishra and Harbhajan Singh during the test series.

Ishant, who has been in terrific form during the West Indies tour, will play a very important role in the series against England. The tall lanky bowler has the ability to extract some bounce from the pitch owing to his height. He has been troubling many a batsmen with his superb line and length. But, he still has to learn the art of bowling to left handers. The English team opening pair of Andrew Strauss and Alastair Cook are both left handers, who can latch on to any wayward delivery that's bowled to them.

Whereas Zaheer has a habit of troubling left handers and England’s captain, Strauss is aware of this fact. Zaheer is the most consistent bowler in the Indian team. He has earned respect from players all over the world. He is one of the best exponents of reverse swing bowling, especially with the old ball. The English players consider Zaheer to be a massive threat in the series. But he may take time to settle down as he is coming back from an injury.

The fight for the third seamer spot may be between Sreesanth and Praveen Kumar who could both be handful in the series if they get their act together. Their main forte lies in the new ball as they are capable of swinging it both ways. The English conditions would be assisting such bowlers. But it would be a tough fight between them to seal a berth in the starting 11. Praveen may have an edge as Sreesanth is coming back from an injury and lacks consistency. Praveen had a decent outing in the test series against West Indies too.

Harbhajan Singh is the best spinner in the Indian team, who would be trying to unsettle the English batsmen. He would be playing a major role in the series as the pitch is bound to wear and tear on the fourth and the fifth day of the Test match. He has plenty of variations in his armoury even if the pitch does not assist him in the initial days of the Test match.

However big score the Indian team puts up on the scoreboard, it is the bowlers who have to take 20 wickets in order to win a Test match. This group of bowlers have it in them to dislodge 20 English wickets in a span of 5 days, which could result in India’s victory.
