Indian Men's Rights Movement goes International Officially 24 May, 2015
The men's rights movement in India had started officially with the launch of Save Indian Family Foundation (SIFF), a Bangalore based men's rights organization way back in 2005.

Ten years down the lane, the movement has grown to phenomenal levels and has also been successful in getting the Indian Govt. to believe that men suffer in life, relationships and marriages and the gender-biased anti-male laws need a change as debates galore to make laws gender neutral, to make shared parenting as the default arrangement, etc.

Apart from this, the founders of SIFF have been instrumental in spreading the movement not only across India but also internationally and they have also successfully started India's first ever community center for victimized and distressed men under Confidare India Men's Rights Community Center.

Yet another feather in the cap of SIFF and Confidare comes our way as World's largest online magazine for men and their issues, "A Voice for Men (AVfM)" joins hands with SIFF & Confidare to launch their India Affiliate website titled - "A Voice for Men - India (AvfM-India)".

SIFF Co-Founder Anil Kumar, who is also the Indian news director, AVfM had attended the International Conference for Men's Issues (ICMI) held in Detroit, last year June 2014, hosted by AVfM.

The main intentions of AVFM-India are:

  • To help and coach men suffering from domestic violence and threats of false cases.

  • To educate and train young men in team work, leadership and the concepts of anti-misandry.

  • To create men's community centers across India with staff and interns.

  • To work with politicians and educational institutions to promote issues of men and boys.

  • To create awareness about fake statistics, bogus studies and lies propagated by radical feminists and other vested interests.

  • To inform and educate people in Western Countries about gender issues in India in an unbiased manner.

  • To fund smaller organizations working for Men's Issues in India.

  • To create awareness about men's issues and to help create men's organizations in South Asia.

  • To coordinate and work with Men's Issues experts in Asia to make the continent safer for Men and boys.

  • To expose human rights violations by Indian police and the court system.

  • To establish male studies courses in Universities.

  • To conduct research and Conferences on men's issues in India.

The western media has always cherished itself in presenting India in a bad light in their countries. Vital statistics and information is suppressed and a completely false picture is painted in order to further the anti-male agenda of international feminists. For example, western media very rarely writes about realities such as,

  1. Every nine minutes a married man commits suicide in India.'

  2. The rate of suicide of married men has doubled in last 20 years.

  3. 60% of the arrests done by police are thoroughly unjustified and avoidable and India has non-bailable laws like dowry laws for resolving minor disputes in marriages which results in millions of innocent men getting arrested every year without trial or investigation.

  4. Domestic Violence against men is legal in India.

  5. Rape laws are clumsily drafted and almost every failed relationship that does not culminate in marriage is converted to a rape case and the man gets arrested.

  6. Fathers rarely get custody/visitation of their children during separation/divorce proceedings but are made to pay child support (maintenance as it is called in India) through their nose.

  7. Dowry death statistics are highly fudged and are drawn out of a faulty legal definition and India is wrongly projected as "Bride Burning Country".

  8. On one hand, men of India are vilified as wife-beaters and dowry seekers while, on the other hand, the abuse they undergo in marriage from wives and in-laws, is either taken for granted or invalidated.

  9. There is not even a single law made to protect men in relationships or at workplace.

  10. The law for curtailing Sexual Harassment at Workplace is gender biased and anti-male unlike many other Western and European countries where it is gender neutral.

  11. The law for curtailing Domestic Violence is also gender biased and anti-male unlike Western countries where it is gender neutral by and large.

AVFM India would be playing the crucial role of bringing the truth out about the problems faced by Indian men and the everyday prejudices and gender discrimination that they are subjected to. AVFM India shall cover articles, news, and hangouts in English as well as in vernacular and regional Indian languages like Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, etc.

Launch of All India Phone Number: We are also launching an all India Phone Number (+91 - 9278 978 978) for abused Indian men, who can join our community centers to seek guidance and coaching.

Victimized and distressed men can contact AVFM India at (+91 - 9278 978 978) for one stop shop solution to their problems in life.
