ATLEAST TEN people were killed and several critically injured after Delhi’s most famous markets were bombed by Indian Mujahideen at GK-M block market, Ghaffar Market in Karol Bagh and Cannaught Place one of the most upscale markets in New Delhi.

There were reports of another explosion in Cannaught Place at the time of writing this story, but the same could not be confirmed. An email sent by Indian Mujahideen has claimed responsibility for the blasts.

Sources said that radio signals from cellphones as well other such devices could have been used to execute the deadly blasts. In Karol Bagh, people said wind screens of cars were shattered and a large number of people were injured by flying glasses. The area witnessed a virtual stampede with shopkeepers downing shutters and people trying to evacuate the area.
The blasts in the famous Ghaffar Market brought chaos to the area with a large number of people literally lying injured in the streets. When the blast happened at Ghaffar Market, an eyewitness, Sandeep, who is a shopkeeper, said, that they felt an earthquake had happened in the area after the blasts. “There was blood all around and people crying with pain”, he said, adding that a large number of tourists and locals were injured.
