Indian Physics Association felicitates its two life members for winning prestigious awards
Indian Physics Association (IPA) - apex professional body dedicated to advancement, dissemination and application of the knowledge of Physics in India - has congratulated and lauded the prestigious award winning IAP members Prof Rohini Godbole and Dr Lalit Kishore for the year 2018. Prof Godbole is the recipient of Padma Award and Dr Kishore of Commonwealth Award.

Announcing the news about Commonwealth Award to Prof Lalit Kishore on the IPA webpage, Prof Vandana Nanal of Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai, wrote, "Dr Lalit Kishore, life member of IPA, currently working with Disha ? A Centre for Multiple Disabilities, Jaipur, has been awarded Findel-CASTME Award for the year 2018 for his work in the field of Language of Mathematics. The award is instituted by the Commonwealth Association of Science, Mathematics and Technology Educators (CASTME), London?Dr Kishore has also been the recipient of the National Award for Science Popularization among Children for the year1990."

"Hearty congratulations to Prof. Rohini Godbole on her being awarded a Padma Shri, national honour, for her extensive contributions to the field of particle physics over the last four decades?She is one of the key persons who initiated Gender in Physics Working Group (GIPWG) of IPA?She is the first woman physicist to be honoured with a Padma award."

Being felicitated by the professional association like IPA is deemed as a great recognition for one's contribution the knowledge area and research work, said Dr. Kishore in Jaipur. IPA has its own awards scheme too for honouring noteworthy contributions of researchers and educators in physics.
