In Iran, Nouroz is going to be celebrated on March 21 to mark the beginning of the New Year. It also marks the ancestral festivity that heralds the beginning of spring and the renewal of nature. Further, the festival promotes values of peace and solidarity among people.
President of India, Pranab Mukherjee while extending his greetings and
felicitations to the government and people of the Islamic Republic of Iran on
the eve of Nouroz, in a message to His Excellency President Dr Hassan Rouhani,
has said, "On the occasion of Nouroz, I extend warm greetings and best wishes
to you, the government and the friendly people of Islamic Republic of Iran."
He added, "The close friendship and cooperation between India and
Iran are built on historical, civilisational and cultural ties spanning more
than two millennia. In modern times, our bilateral relations are defined by

International Day of Nowruz since it 'transcends national borders, religious
divides and other differences to unite communities with bonds of goodwill. Such
