Indian rupee to get symbol for recognition

INDIA IS all set to achieve another milestone. Indian government is planning to give a symbol to India rupee for easy international recognition. This will make Indian rupee a part of international currency club like Dollar, Euro, Sterling, etc.
The symbol is devised to give Indian rupee an identity.
In order to make public part of the phenomena, government has hosted a contest.
Government had opened a competition in March 2009 inviting creative designs from India to represent the rupee in a simple form.
The Finance Ministry issued guidelines regarding symbol, which read that the symbol should represent the historical and cultural ethos of the country. The ministry received around 10,000 entries.
The ministry has decided to give Rs 25 thousand to each top five entries irrespective of their symbol making to the final selection. The winner will get a grand price of Rs 2, 50,000 and his design will be used as the official symbol of Indian rupee.
Among the entries received chances are that a symbol reflecting the Hindi alphabet 'R' is likely to be accepted.

this is the best symbol as on date, because it reflects first alphabet of the Ruppe in Devanagiri Script and English Script

here i would propose the better symbol will be a crossed ??????Phy??????.

Mismanagement and violation of guidelines in ??????Indian Rupee Symbol?????? design competition exposed by RTI activists.
1. No records which could show how many total design entries FM received.
2. Non eligible candidate was shortlisted in top five finalists.
3. One finalist was contact with FM and RBI prior to competition.
4. Design concept or brief was not put in front of jury along with symbol design.
5. Jury spends less than 20 seconds on each design entries to analyze it.
6. One jury member was absent on the day of final presentation.
7- Three jury member was absent two days meeting date 29 and 30 Sep 209
