Indian team announced, Harbhajan dropped
The Indian team for the first two ODIs against England has been announced, in which Harbhajan Singh has been dropped. Many important players are also missing from the team due to injuries. The Indian team, therefore, looks weak.

THE INDIAN team for the first and the second ODI has been announced by the selectors today. Harbhajan Singh has been dropped from the team for the two ODIs. The selectors have taken a very courageous decision to drop the player, as he is the most experienced spinner in India at the international level. India would be playing against England in a 5-match ODI series. It must have been his form, which led him to be ousted by the selectors.

The Indian team that has been selected for the first two ODIs do not have a very strong look to it as most of the senior pros have not made it into the squad, as they are injured. Players such as Munaf Patel, Ishant Sharma, Rohit Sharma, Sachin Tendulkar, Zaheer Khan, Sehwag would not be playing in the first two ODI’s, which could hit the Indian team hard.

Some of the new faces that have been included in the team are Rahul Sharma and S Aravind. Both these players have had an impressive season and a good IPL season, which has grabbed the eyeballs of selectors. Rahul Sharma seemed to be a direct replacement for Harbhajan Singh. S Aravind is a medium pacer, who would like to impress if he gets any chance to represent India.

The Indian bowler looks a bit fragile, with Praveen Kumaar being the best bet in the present squad. He needs some major support from other bowlers such as Umesh Yadav, Vinay Kumar, Varun Aaron whoever gets a chance to play in the starting 11. As the series is going to be played in India, history has shown that the pitches are always on the slower side. It also means that it is the spinners who would be playing a major role in the series.

The Indian team has plenty of spinners in their ranks such as Ravindra Jadeja, Rahul Sharma, R Ashwyn. The responsibility may fall on the hands of R. Ashwyn, who played an important role in previous series. On the other hand, the England team has announced a strong side for the Indian tour. They have brought back their main batsmen, Kevin Pietersen in the ODI squad, after he was given rest in the ODI series against India in England. Though, James Anderson has been rested for the series by the England selector, which was needed after his splendid show against the Indians.

The series would be watched with keen interest from all over the world as India would like to take revenge after their humiliating defeat in their previous tour to England. India would like to win the series by defeating England and show them that they are still one of the top teams playing ODI cricket.
