ICC Cricket World Cup 2015
Indian Team for 2015 Cricket World Cup: Virender Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh should be included in the squad!
The 15- member Indian team for the 2015 Cricket World Cup to be held next month in Australia and New Zealand will be selected today. Indian cricket fans along with BCCI have lots of expectations from the team that would win the World Cup. India is standing at 7th position in test cricket, and at 2nd position in ODI.

I have personally gone through the 30 member squad declared earlier by the selection board. Can anyone put his hand on his heart and agree that the 30-member team announced earlier can bring back the prestigious title back to home.

The ongoing test series against Australia is proof of my doubts. No bowler has proved himself as match winner. Three batsmen namely Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane and Murali Vijay have exhibited match winning qualities or at least emerged as match savers. But can India survive in the World Cup just by depending on these three batsmen?

Captain MS Dhoni has abysmally bad record on Australian pitches. It's also proved that the heroes on Sub-Continent's pitches be it Rohit Sharma, Sikhar Dhawan or Cheteshwar Pujara; have themselves zero on Australian pitches. India is very strong on its home pitch but very weak on pitches outside Asia.

As a cricket lover I would like to see Virender Sehwag in the top order and Yuvraj Singh in the middle order. It's always said that class remains permanent and form remains temporary. Yuvraj has scored three back to back centuries in Ranji matches.

Sehwag too slammed two back to back centuries, particularly his 147 runs came from Lahli's pitch (the last first class match of Tendulkar) where it's said that average first day score remains at 239. Delhi scored 278 for 7 where as Sehwag remained not out at 147!

Many would say that bowling attack in Ranji matches is not up to the level does international matches. But should it be an obstacle? Class of both Yuvraj and Sehwag is known to everybody. If they have got their forms as it is visible from the Ranji performance, they can do better for India in the World Cup. Check the records; it's Sehwag and Yuvraj who had most successful records on Australian pitches!

Well I know that the Indian ODI skipper may agree on Yuvraj's name but not on Sehwag's name because of personal feud. But let me ask the selection board whether Dhoni should be India's captain for ODI and upcoming World Cup!

No doubt Dhoni is a great cricketer. But at the moment he is under severe stress because of IPL fixing matter and etc. It was visible from his captaincy in 2nd and 3rd test match against Australia.

I think in the interest of Indian cricket in the World Cup, Dhoni a stressed person should be relieved from the captainship of Indian ODI squad. Virat is best choice who doesn't have any problem with Yuvraj and Sehwag.

Point remains whether BCCI now go for merits or for contacts. They can check Sehwag and Yuvraj's record in Australia vis-a-vis nowadays heroes who scored plenty at home and cipher outside India.

I can only wish that BCCI's selection board will think in the interest of the country without any prejudice! I'll be really surprised if both are included in World Cup team but wouldn't be disappointed if both are axed because BCCI never thinks in national interest rather it is more concerned about its petty interests.
