Indian wrestler Narsingh Yadav's fate will be decided on August 18 by CAS
Trouble for Indian wrestler Narsingh Yadav doesn't seem to end! He will spend a few more sleepless nights in Rio before he knows whether or not he will be allowed to compete at the Olympic Games.

The Indian wrestler will be informed about the final decision just few hours before his scheduled fight in 74-kg category on August 19.

Narsingh's case will be heard at 1 pm on August 18, a day before his first bout. The decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) - the highest appellate authority in sports, may come on the same day or on August 19.

The latest development took place after the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) used its right to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport against the clean chit provided to Narsingh by NADA in a dope scandal.

"WADA has appealed against the NADA clearance in Court of Arbitration (CAS). Now, the hearing is on and the IOA Secretary General (Rajeev Mehta) is there with WADA officials," said Indian contingent's chef-de-mission Rakesh Gupta, as per a TOI report.

Now, Narsingh's participation in the Olympics completely depends on the verdict of CAS's fast-track division (set up in Rio to hear doping violation cases during the Games). If found guilty, Narsingh may face a four-year ban as he is a first-time offender.

If that happens, India will probably go without any representative in the 74-kg category.
