It was a last chance for India to salvage some pride in the ongoing Test series but, the first day's play makes one presume that India would be whitewashed - and, one of its upcoming bowlers sees nothing wrong in this embarrassing situation.
WITH TWO centurions in Ricky Ponting and Michael Clarke going great guns in Adelaide and with a score of 335 for loss of 3 wickets, no one would give India even the remotest chance of winning or drawing the 4th and final Test match.

India would probably be staring at a huge total around 600-runs and it would depend on the batting stalwarts to deliver the kill punch. But – can they?
The blame for the continued failure of the famed batting lineup was put on the shoulders of captain MS Dhoni. But, from all appearances, even though the 4th Test has a new, albeit a new captain in Virender Sehwag, the result does not appear to have much chance of being any different.
Obviously, change of the captain is not the solution to the ills that have sorrounded the Indian cricket - it is all about changing the current mindset of cricketers. The seniors must be told to call it a day and hang up their gloves, pads, guards, helmets and bats.
In the interest of Indian cricket, the seniors must make way for the next generation. That way they would best serve the interests of Indian cricket instead of remaining glued to the team.
