AFTER SUFFERING racial discrimination Down Under, hundreds of Indian students have been left in the lurch, after the sudden closure of a number of colleges in Australia. The problem has become huge after the collapse of the Globus Campus Management Group, which was running four colleges in Sydney and Melbourne on Thursday, November 5.
The collapse has left hundreds of Indian students shell shocked, as they never expected such a thing to happen and that too so far away from home. The situation has become more complicated, as hundreds of students of the Global college, which closed last year, were placed in colleges run by the Globus Campus Management Group, which went bust day before yesterday.
The fate of five hundred students, who were studying in various streams, including English language, design and cooking, hangs in the balance, as they aimed to secure permanent residency. Talking to media persons, the students said that coming to Australia was a big mistake for them, claiming that the quality of education was quite low.
They also opined that the racial discrimination had caused some problems but, the sudden closure of schools has completely destroyed their hopes. In the last year, ten private colleges have closed in Australia, causing much trouble to the international students.
