ICC Cricket World Cup 2015
India's 2015 world cup probables announced: Sehwag, Yuvraj, Harbhajan axed
A list of 30 Indian probables for the upcoming ICC 2015 World Cup has been announced. The most notable absentees being Sehwag, Gambhir, Harbhajan, Yuvraj and Zaheer, but their exclusion was on the cards.

The Indian team selection has not been swayed by emotions, while selecting the team. They have gone ahead with the team, which has been playing together for the past few months with some success in the 50 over format. In fact, it would have been foolish to take these senior pros, just for their experience, who has not been able to prove themselves in the domestic circuit as well.

Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni are well known faces, and their selection was expected. Other names such as Kedar Jadhav, Manoj Tiwary, Uthappa, Manish Pandey, and Sanju Samson have made it through as well, but only one or two might be selected in the final list of 15 players.

The Indian team has also gone with another wicketkeeper, (apart from Dhoni) Wriddhiman Saha, who still might be left out, as Uthappa is also decent behind the wickets and dangerous with the bat. It is for the selectors to decide.

It might be easier for the selectors to choose the batsmen in the final 15, but it would not be easy to select the bowlers in the team. Though, five spinners (R Ashwin, Parvez Rasool, Karn Sharma, Amit Mishra, Ravindra Jadeja, Akshar Patel) have been named in the probables, only two might be taken with Ashwin being sure of that spot and the other could fall to Jadeja, for his all round skills. If they consider a third spinner, it might be a toss between Mishra and Karn Sharma.

It is the pacers, which is going to hold the key, hence the right bowlers must be taken down under to exploit the conditions. Ishant Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohd Shami, Umesh Yadav, Varun Aaron are the favourites to fly to Australia, as they have been the prefferred bowlers for the past year or so and taking in new bowlers does not make sense.

In spite of naming these probables, the Indian selectors might have a clear view as to who their final 15 players would be, to defend the crown, which they won in 2011.
