INDIA HAD to face a series of dissapointments where the Academy awards are concerned, and this time with all fingers crossed a Marathi movie 'Harishchandra Factory' by Mumbai based theatre actor/director Paresh Mokashi has been chosen by the Film Federation as the esteemed entry. It is his virgin endeavour in the feild of film making and he is making heads turn everywhere except in his own country.
The movie has a very abstract yet interesting storyline, which deals with the making of Raja Harishchanda, Inida's first full length feature film which was made in 1913, by the much revered Dadasaheb Phalke.
This very humble attempt by Mokashi, which got compeleted in January, has been receiving world wide acclaim but is yet to release in India. The approximate time of release is "soon." A highly embarrassing situation for a country of movie goers who find it difficult to appreciate anything though arousing.
"I will start campaigning for my film for the Oscars from next month. Aamir Khan, Ashutosh Gowariker and Shwaas director Sandeep Sawant will help me in the promotion as they are experienced hands," he said.
