India's Freida Pinto in the race to be a Bond girl
Slumdog Millionaire beauty Freida Pinto is set to fulfill a dream. She had reportedly auditioned unsuccessfully for Bond girl Camille Montes in the last Bond movie 'Quantum of Solace'. Now she may well be the lady lead for the next Bond movie.
BAFTA NOMINATED Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire) is again in the race to be the “James Bond” girl for the next Bond movie scheduled to be released next year.
She reportedly unsuccessfully auditioned for Bond girl Camille Montes in the last Bond movie “Quantum of Solace” (Marc Forster).

She was reportedly paid about $3 million to act in the latest Woody Allen movie. She is currently in three movies under different stages of production—“Miral” (Julian Schnabel), “Dawn of War” (Tarsem Singh Dhandwar) and “You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger” (Woody Allen). She has appeared as herself in shows like "Xposé", "Nyhetsmorgon", "Entertainment Tonight", "The Oprah Winfrey Show", "The Tyra Banks Show", "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno", "Larry King Live", "This Morning”, "Moving Pictures Live!", "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson", "Ellen: The Ellen DeGeneres Show", "Late Show with David Letterman", and "Up Close with Carrie Keagan".

Commending Pinto for her international successes in cinema, Indo-American statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, said that talent exchanges between various centers of world cinema were becoming more frequent. If handled positively, these exchanges might help us learn each other better and thus reducing the international conflicts, Zed, who is chairperson of Indo-American Leadership Federation, added.

Nicknamed “Fro”, 5’6” Pinto of Mangalorean Catholic background recently received “Global Indian Face Award” in Mumbai at Pearls Wave Awards ceremony. Although she is now an internationally acclaimed film star, she has not completely abandoned modeling. Besides being the “the new face” of L’Oreal, she was on the cover of February edition of Elle (India) magazine, which described her as "a dream to work with".

Pinto reportedly dreamed of becoming an actress when she was five years old. She is featured in People Magazine's "Most Beautiful People List”. She is rumored to be in “American Empire” (dark comedy centered around betrayal directed by Andy Armstrong and releasing in 2011).
