India's President, VP and PM greets the nation on the occasion of Milad-un-Nabi
The nation is celebrating Milad-un-Nabi along with Makar sakranti and Pongal today on Jaunuary 14. President Pranab Mukherjee, Vice-President M. Hamid Ansari and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh greeted the nation on the occasion of Milad-un-Nabi, the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad, reports a PIB release.
Conveying his greetings and good wishes, the President said,"May the message of selflessness and brotherhood preached by the Holy Prophet inspire us to promote unity and friendship amongst all people. May the eternally relevant teachings of the Prophet inspire us to re-dedicate ourselves for the well-being of humanity.”
The Vice President in his message said that the noble life and eternal message of the Holy Prophet shows us the virtuous path of compassion, tolerance and peaceful co-existence.
“I convey my warm greetings and good wishes to the citizens of our country on the blessed occasion of Milad-un-Nabi, birthday of the Prophet Mohammad.The noble life and eternal message of the Holy Prophet shows us the virtuous path of compassion, tolerance and peaceful co-existence.On this auspicious occasion, let us all firmly resolve to build a peaceful, compassionate and fraternal society,” he added.
Greeting the nation on the occasion, the Prime Minister said that the life of the Prophet teaches us to be selfless and care for the less fortunate. His message inspires us to work for peace and brotherhood. "May the festival spread peace, harmony and compassion among all, the Prime Minister added," he added.
