Director General of India SME Forum, Sushma Morthania, while addressing the event, as reported by Free Press Journa, said, “Entrepreneurship in India is underrated especially for women and and it is only women who can change this myth. Indore has given many such examples and that is what has compelled us to launch our forum from here.”
There are 70,000 SMEs working all over the country with the full hand support of the forum and every city accounts 170 SME in average. In order to spread knowledge, recognition for the women entrepreneurs and also to create a favourable eco-system for them the forum travels to various cities every year. Last year it covered 23 cities and this year starting from Indore it plans to cover 67 cities.
The 8 time elected Member of Parliament, Sumitra Mahajan was the chief guest of the event. In her speech emphasising on Women Entrepreneurship she said that men and women are gifted with equal strength, talent and skills so there is no point that women should be consider as the weaker section of the society and wished global respect for quality Indian manufacturing.
Supporting the the initiative Ritu Grover, IMA, Professional Women's forum said, “We have similar zeal to promote women entrepreneur as that of India SME forum and we try our level best to assist women entrepreneurs to grow them professionally in Indore and the launch of this forum will help us bring all the women entrepreneurs under the umbrella,”
