Industry body Assocham seeks Election Commission's clarification on pending environment & forest clearances
Apex industry body Assocham has urged the Election Commission of India to urgently provide all clarifications sought by the Ministry of Environment and Forest (MoEF) vis-à-vis environment, forest, wildlife and other necessary clearances which have been pending since the implementation of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) from March 5, 2014.

addressed to the Chief Election Commissioner, V.S. Sampath.

about grant of EC.

Advisory Committee (FAC) and based on its recommendations the cases
of forest clearances are decided by the ministry.
committee of National Board of Wildlife considers the proposal which
requires wildlife clearance and makes recommendations based on which
decision is taken by the ministry.
All the aforesaid
clearances are ongoing regulatory activities of MoEF.
