Apex industry body Assocham has urged the Election Commission of India to urgently provide all clarifications sought by the Ministry of Environment and Forest (MoEF) vis-à-vis environment, forest, wildlife and other necessary clearances which have been pending since the implementation of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) from March 5, 2014.

said D.S. Rawat, secretary general of The Associated Chambers of
Commerce and Industry of India (Assocham) in a communication
addressed to the Chief Election Commissioner, V.S. Sampath.

requires wildlife clearance and makes recommendations based on which
decision is taken by the ministry.
All the aforesaid
clearances are ongoing regulatory activities of MoEF.
