Insensitivity of the Congress stands exposed after revelation of the plot to kill PM Modi
In politics one may have differences in ideology and thought process but not on issues which concern the security and well being of the nation. However, it looks like that the Congress has gone too far this time with its anti-Modi agenda.

The thought process of India's Grand Old Party has become so negative that it is even taking the recent revelation by Pune police on the plot to kill Prime Minister Narendra Modi, by expressing doubt over the police and saying that whenever Modi's popularity takes a dip his assassination conspiracy theories start making rounds.

On June 6, the Pune police while investigating the Bhima Koregaon case had arrested five people claiming that they had been planning a "Rajiv Gandhi style" assassination of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Pune police in its submission before the local court Thursday, claimed to have found a letter in the computer of Delhi-based activist Rona Jacob Wilson, one of the five accused of inciting violence in Bhima Koregaon, detailing a plan to assassinate PM Modi.

Having lost one serving Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi, and one ex-Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi, who both were assassinated, as also a galaxy of its leaders in the Sukma massacre in Chhattisgarh at the hands of Naxals in 2013, the Congress should be the last political party to be taking such a revelation by the Pune police lightly, let alone making a joke out of it. It only shows the insensitivity of the current Congress leadership. Will they still laugh if tomorrow, god forbid, some plot is unearthed to kill Sonia Gandhi or her son Rahul Gandhi?

Need of the hour is investigation by the highest investigation agency or a SIT, which must go into full depth of this plot and unearth all white collar sympathisers of Naxals.

Time has come that we must re-impose Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA) type of law in India with proper checks and balances. Ironically POTA was repealed by the Congress after it came to power in 2004 to appease a particular community. This law is an absolute necessity now because in its absence a lot of people connected with terror keep getting away. Special POTA courts must be established for speedy trial of those involved in terror activities. There should be zero tolerance towards terror in our country.
