VISITING TEAM Inter Milan have knocked Chelsea out of the 2010 UEFA Champions League after defeating them by 1-0 (3-1 aggregate) at Stamford bridge, London on Tuesday evening. Samuel Eto'o's late goal increased the Italian champions' first-leg advantage. The result means that Chelsea exit the tournament in the last 16 phase, while Inter progress to the Quarter Final stage.
Samuel Eto scored only goal at the 78th minutes of the play. Eto'o struck after an angled through-ball from Sneijder picked out his run and the Cameroon striker stabbed the ball past Blues goalkeeper Ross Turnbull. Chelsea forward Didier Drogba was sent off for taking a kick at Thiago Motta in the 87th minute. Eto'o had also scored the winner on that occasion, a 2-1 win for FC Barcelona, when Mourinho was in the home dugout.
It was Chelsea FC's first home defeat in the competition since February 2006 and also first loss in 22 home matches in the Champions League.
