ACCLAIMED HINDU statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA), suggested that as Michael Jackson belonged to the whole world and he did provide “joy” to the citizens of the world irrespective of their traditions and background, it was very befitting to have prayers read from sacred texts of major world religions and denominations at his public funeral service by their respective clergy.

Zed, who is president of Universal Society of Hinduism, said that he was willing to volunteer if asked.

Rajan Zed further said that they had prayed for the peace of entertainer Michael’s soul. Michael’s personal life might had been controversial, but he did provide “joy” to a large populace of the world through his music. According to ancient Hindu scriptures: “From joy are born all creatures, by joy they grow, and to joy they return”.
