International Childhood Cancer Day month being observed in Jaipur
It is reported that as a part of the International Childhood Cancer Month, the observance of the event was held on March 12 at JK Lone Hospital and Shrishti Cancer Trust in Jaipur.

Various hospitals, medical colleges and cancer survivors groups have been organising the observance of International Childhood Cancer Day (ICCD) since February 15, report local newspapers.

This year, ICCD observance has been focusing on theme "No More Pain" and "No More Loss" for children with cancer. The basic purpose is to ensure the children's right to early diagnosis, life-saving essential medicines, quality medical treatments, and treatment without pain; said Delhi-based medical physicist and radiologist Deepak Arora, who keeps on organising various art and craft events for children with cancers as shown in the inset pictures of an event for such children.

The ICCD is being observed since 2002 by Childhood Cancer International (CCI) which is the global network of partners including the World Health Organization, SIOP, and others, towards the global goal of reducing childhood cancer mortality and the elimination of cancer-related pain.

Also, WHO Global Childhood Cancer Initiative has been launched to eliminate all pain and suffering of children with cancer as well as doubling of the current cure rate by 2030.
