AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) have been observing “International Condom Day” on the 13th of February since past few years in many countries across the globe and this has caught a lot of attention and acceptance in the U.S. and certain other countries including Uganda and Cambodia.
This day, being a day before the
Valentine’s day, has been very effective in catching the public's
attention and effectively creating awareness on condom use for the
safety of sexual health.
This year's event comprises of pledge
signatures on the largest inflatable condom of 30ft size at
Kaushambi's East Delhi
Mall (EDM) in NCR.
AHF awareness team comprising of around
30 volunteers will place a stall for condom and information
distribution and hope to conduct mobilization through Flash Mobs
along with the students and then provide awareness through IEC
distribution and also distribute free condoms.
The event will take place at the EDM
from 3:00 PM onwards. AHF will be utilizing their two HIV testing
vans to conduct HIV/AIDS awareness and testing at placements inside
and outside the mall premises.
