International Environment & Wildlife Film Festival and Forum announces awards in 11 categories
The 7th CMS VATAVARAN: International Environment & Wildlife Film Festival and Forum has announced 33 awards in 11 categories (Indian and International). These were presented to the film makers at the gala award night by distinguished guest and personalities.
The award ceremony was graced by the presence of Dr. KS Rao, Minister of Textile, GOI; Amol Palekar, Actor, Director and Producer & Chairperson, 2014 Indian Jury. Among other dignitaries who were present in the ceremony include, Hem Pande, Additional Secretary, MoEF, GOI; Ambassador of Norway to India, Elvind S Homme; Country Director GIZ, Stephen Helming; Sunita Narain, Director, CSE; Vivek Menon, CEO, WTI; Dr. Anil Prakash Joshi, Founder Member, Himalayan Environmental Studies and Conservation Organisation, Uttarakhand.

A total of 541 entries (337 International and 204 Indian) were received in 2013. From them, 86 films were nominated (52 Indian and 34 International films) by a 31 member nomination jury headed by Srinivasan Iyer, Assistant Country Director and Head, Energy and Environment Unit, UNDP India held from August 27 - 30, 2013 at New Delhi.

The CMS VATAVARAN 2014 Award winners were selected by a jury comprising 13 eminent personalities from widely divergent sectors and streams representing environment & wildlife, film, media and communication held from Dec 18 - 20, 2013 at New Delhi. Eminent film maker, actor and producer - Amol Palekar headed the list of eminent jurists for the coveted 7th CMS VATAVARAN Indian Awards. Ramesh Sharma, award-winning filmmaker chaired the jury for international awards.

Also winners of the 3rd CMS VATAVARAN Short Film Festival which included students from The Shri Ram School Aravali, The Shri Ram School Moulsari, The Shri Ram Millenium School Noida, Amity International School Sector-46, Scottish High School Gurgaon, DPS International School, SRS Bhiwani were awarded.
