May 1 every year marks the struggle of workers battling for employee welfare and safeguarding their rights. Workers are essential to national and social development. Their contribution determines the prosperity of a nation.
Labour Day was celebrated by the Students and Staff of Rotary Public School who gathered in a special Assembly today. The program started with a speech by Rhitambara and Nikita welcoming the Class IV employees of the school and acknowledging their efforts and hard work. A self composed song by the school’s Music Teachers – Mr. Satish Kumar and Mr. Mithilesh Kumar “Samay Nahin Khone Ka Bhai, Poore Karna Kaam, Jai Jawan, Jai Kisaan” was sung by the School Choir in praise of workers who with their hard work contribute immensely to the society and progress of a nation.
A skit was performed by the students showcasing how each and every worker in school help us every day. The students with their rhythmic steps on “Tum Chalo to Hindustan Chale” and “Jai Ho” magnificently showcased their dancing skills under the supreme guidance of Mr. Pradyumn Bhargava & Mrs. Shobha, Dance Teachers of the School. A speech by Shikar of Class X along with his team of 10 students lauded the ceaseless efforts of the workers of the nation and the school in particular.
All workers of the school were overwhelmed watching the function and expressed their gratitude towards the school management, administrative department, teaching faculty and students for their endeavor to honour them. Mr. Subhash Chand, Transport Supervisor of the School, on behalf of all Class IV employees, thanked everyone and promised to serve with continued dedication.
School Principal, Miss Gulshan Dewan congratulated the workers and thanked them for their selfless services. Member Academics, School Managing Committee, Rtn. Rohit Bhatia, who was present on the occasion focused on the priceless contribution of the workers for the smooth functioning of the institution. The School’s Activity Coordinator, Mrs. Anju Talwar said that future generation needs to be made aware of the importance of the working class who are our partners in hands. She designed the event to forge a better understanding of the primary role and importance of the labour community among the students who must learn to respect and appreciate their efforts.
The employees were presented with cards and gifts as a token of respect. They were served Lunch arranged specially by the students of the school.
