APPLE SOLD some 1.7 million units of iPhone 4 in first 3 days. With this huge success of iPhone 4 and it’s new and renamed operating system, iOS 4, came some problems as well.

Some of the common problems reported by iPhone 4 users in the recent days are call drops on iPhone 4 if held by its steel rim, loss of network bars, yellow spot on certain places of the display on iPhone 4.

While iOS 4 runs smoothly on iPhone 4 the same is not reported by iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G users. The iPhone iOS 4 update has not been accepted by the existing devices in the best way. As the RAM on iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS is lesser than that of iPhone 4 (512 MB) this problem is understandable.

Apple iPhone 3G owners have reported numerous problems after installing the latest iPhone 3G update software iOS 4. The iPhone 3G is unbearably slow and is giving the users a tough time.

At times it just goes off and switches itself on after a while. This has become order of the day when at least twice of thrice the iPhone 3G goes off with apple logo on screen.

Apple released the iOS 4 a week ago and with that released the new iPhone 4 with the latest OS, iOS 4 which enables multitasking and folder functionality along with a claimed 100 features.

There are some common iPhone 3G problems after iOS 4 update:

1.       The overall performance of the phone is very slow and sluggish.
2.     The iPhone becomes unresponsive if you try to do things fast.
3.     iPhone 3G hangs and the touch screen doesn’t respond for a while.
4.     The selection of contacts or anything even like choosing albums, checking mails, opening SMSes become slow and at times dead.
5.     Folders open but icons won’t work the way they work, the app will be fired but after you have used many buttons. At times it just won’t work.
6.     The device gets hot after you use it for a while.
7.     The iPhone 3G switches off and on on it’s own.
8.     The iPhone 3G apps which worked flawlessly earlier now exit themselves on their wish.
9.     The Wi-Fi reception has also become an issue where the device always prompts for password.

Users are hoping for a fix from Apple to arrive sometime soon. These problems are really giving a tough time to earlier satisfied users. Some are even asking why there is no downgrading option.

My 3GS phone started to freeze a couple of days ago. I updated it right after the iOS4 was released. It is very disgusting, as getting the iPhone frozen, when it is expected to be a very responsive mobile is completely upsetting.
I updated my iPhone 3 with the OS4. I have 16gb. My phone will lockup/freeze and I have to power cycle to return to an active state. Locks up at random regardless of what function/icons I use. It's a becomeing a issue. I have to power cycle at least 2x a day.
