iPad 2 sold out, makes Apple Inc richer by 125 per cent
The Cupertino based technology giant Apple Inc on Tuesday said that it has sold every unit of its iPad 2 it has manufactured, thus making the company post a record quarterly profits of 125 per cent or $28.57 billion.

APPLE INC, which till for a past few months was contemplating how to sell out its iPad 2 amidst a series of complaints from users, on Tuesday, did the unthinkable. The company has said that it has now sold every single piece of its iPad 2, and posted quarterly revenue of $28.57 billion, a record created by the company.

Apple Inc was quite recently adjudged the richest company in terms of liquidity and post the staggering sales, the profits of the company grew by 125 per cent taking the figure to $7.31 billion. The announcement was made by Apple’s Chief Financial Officer Peter Oppenheimer who in a statement said that the company has sold all the gadgets it had manufactured.

Incidentally, in 2010, somewhere around the same time, the Cupertino based company recorded profits by the sales of its iPhones and iPads. As per Apple Inc, with the sales of 20.34 million iPhones in the quarter, the company recorded growth of 142 per cent and with the quarterly sales of the iPads, which stood at 9.25 million units the profits jumped to 183 per cent.

However, Apple’s flagship product, the Mac had sold 3.95 million units during the quarter, which is 14 per cent more than the figures recorded last year, during the same time.

As the news was made public, an excited Steve Jobs was quoted saying that the company was thrilled to deliver its best quarter ever, with the revenue up 82 per cent and profits up 125 per cent. He further mentioned that the right now, Apple Inc was very focused and excited about bringing the iOS 5 and iCloud for its users this fall.
