IPL 2013: KKR vs RR Preview
The Indian Premier League has moved into the business end of the competition with teams eager to progress ahead into the final stages from the group stages. These final matches are very important for the defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders, who need to win all their remaining matches in the competition to stay in contention to finish in the top four.

Rajasthan Royals are placed in a better position with 12 points from nine games and a victory tonight against KKR at Eden Gardens would take them to 14 points. KKR has just accumulated six points.

Shane Watson, who did not feature in the initial Royals matches has been instrumental in their teams success. He has been batting splendidly well, where he also became the first person to score a century in IPL 2013. Watson has just played seven games but has scored an amazing 314 runs with the bat. Watson's flexibility with both the bat and the ball has made him the best Royals player under the leadership of Rahul Dravid, who has held his own as well. Irrespective of the non-existence of many big players, other fringe players such as Stuart Binny, and Brad Hodge have joined in the party.

KKR's line up, which boasts of players such as Yusuf Pathan, Jaques Kallis, Eoin Morgan, Gautam Gambhir, and Manoj Tiwary have only been good players on paper, for their performance has not done justice to their talent and experience - barring Gambhir and Morgan to some extent. In the bowling department, Sunil Narine has been one of the best and the KKR think tank must thank the player for some points on the table. He has taken 15 wickets in the tournament so far. He will be a tough nut to crack for the Rajasthan batsmen.

Rahul Dravid has been wise in some of his selections so far, especially when he has opened the innings with Rahane and dropped Watson to the middle order. This makes the middle order strong and Watson with his big hitting can play an important role in the middle overs and play the finishers role with Hodge, which they have done well. But it is not only their batsmen, but also bowlers like James Faulkner who has been impressive taking 16 wickets from seven matches. Royals would expect Faulkner to come up with crucial wickets tonight, especially Gambhir and Kallis' wicket in the first six overs. This will only increase their chances of winning the match.
