IPL 2014: Battle of the Kings - CSK vs KXIP
Chennai Super Kings may have defeated Mumbai Indians in the eliminator, but they have still not reached the finals of IPL 2014, as they need to defeat another heavyweight, Kings XI Punjab, which would be another test for CSK. Kolkata Knight Riders reached the finals of the competition after defeating Kings XI Punjab yesterday.

Kings XI Punjab has been the best side in the competition so far, but failed when KKR put up a great performance at Eden Gardens. Ironically, it is either CSK or KXIP who would reach the finals of the competition, though it was these two teams, who were the most consistent team of the season.

With explosive players in both sides, the match should be nothing short of excitement. Kings XI possesses some of the most explosive batsmen, namely Sehwag, Bailey, Miller and Maxwell. It is in fact Maxwell, who has been a huge player for Kings XI Punjab, who has scored 539 runs. But, his form of late has seen a little dip, which has been a worrying factor for Punjab, as they have started to depend on Maxwell for his batting heroics.

Their batsmen have played a key role in helping Punjab win their matches, so their bowlers efforts have gone unnoticed. Sandeep Sharma has been their best bet with 17 wickets. Will he contain the CSK batting line up, which looks very strong?

DR Smith, Suresh Raina and B McCullum have been their best contributor with the bat and CSK would look upto these batsmen to deliver the goods. MS Dhoni has also come to the party, when the need arose. In the bowling department, Mohit Sharma holds the purple cap with 22 wickets and need to be on top of his game if he is to stop the batting run machines of Kings XI Punjab.

What makes CSK a strong contender is their record in the IPL, as they have won the competition twice and has also been the most successful team in IPL history. But, one cannot count out Punjab, for they have spent their money wisely in the auctions and created a team, which is capable of lifting the IPL 2014 trophy.
