IPL 2014 Preview: KXIP Vs RCB
After a string of four successive victories, Kings XI Punjab faces one of their biggest test in Royal Challengers Bangalore later today. RCB's form has dipped of late, as they have lost their two previous matches, hence it is imperative to register a win for RCB and climb up the table, where they currently possess only four points compared to Punjab's eight.

Both the teams have a strong looking batting order. For RCB, they have a strong middle and lower middle order, which includes Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, AB de Villiers and Morkel, but they have not yet hit top gear, which is a concern. They also look fragile and weak in the opening slot in the absence of Chris Gayle. Nevertheless, Parthiv Patel has done decently well as an opener.

On the other hand, Kings XI Punjab has tremendous players in their batting line up. Starting with their opener, they have a destroyer in Sehwag, though his form has been disappointing. But, if the batsman clicks for a solitary game, he can change the course of the game in a matter of balls.

But, it is the batting exploits of Glenn Maxwell that has been the talk of the town. He has played an instrumental role in Punjab's winning form this season. Bailey and Miller have contributed with the bat as well, when required.

So with such kind of batsmen in the offing, it is the bowlers of the respective teams, which needs to be on their toes all the time. Kings XI has a weaker bowling line up, where Mitchell Johnson is the sole world class bowlers, while bowlers such as Balaji, Maxwell, Patel make up the numbers.

The same cannot be said for RCB, as they have a superior bowling line up with Rampaul, Starc, Dinda and Albie Morkel forming the core structure, supported by other bowlers as well. So, one can deduce that the team, which bowls well on the day could turn out to be victorious.
