IPL 2014: RR vs KXIP
With Rajasthan Royals scheduled to play Kings XI Punjab later tonight, Royals just need a victory to progress into the final four of the competition. Punjab, on the other hand has been brilliant to watch, where they have already sealed a berth in the last four, as they presently lie on top of the IPL standings.

Rajasthan may not possess a star studded line up unlike many other teams, but they have always been a team, which has played together as a unit, helping them cross the finishing line. They have had a decent season with seven victories from twelve matches, but they need to win one of their remaining two matches to seal a final four spot.

None of the their batsmen have been in the greatest of form, which seems to be a major worry in such crucial matches, but all the players have contributed with the bat, when required. Rahane has been their best batsmen with 316 runs. Other batsmen such as KK Nair and Sanju Samson have also contributed. But, it is time for their skipper, Shane Watson to fire in all cylinders, who has only scored 232 runs so far.

The same can be said for their bowlers as well. Still, Tambe who has bowled brilliantly claiming 15 wickets. The rest of the bowlers have contributed in bits and pieces, which just adds pressure to Tambe. If Royals are to win the game, other bowlers such as Faulkner, Bhatia, need to create pressure from their end as well. Will they be able to silence the overpowering Punjab batting line up?

Glenn Maxwell, George Bailey and David Miller have played an important role so far with the bat, hence their position in the competition. Rarely has all three batsmen failed to deliver in a single match. Maxwell is the highest scorer for Punjab with 533 runs. If Rajasthan are to defeat Punjab, their bowlers need to contain these batsmen, which is not an easy task.

These batsmen have taken the sheen away from the Punjab bowler, Sandeep Sharma, who has been the find for Punab, as he is the fourth highest wicket taker in the tournament with 17 wickets. Balaji has been impressive as well with 11 wickets against his name. With such performance shown by Punjab with both bat and ball this season, Rajasthan Royals have a daunting task in hand to defeat Punjab.
