IPL 2017 Match Preview: Delhi Daredevils V/s Rising Pune Supergiant
In match 52 of the Vivo IPL 2017 to be played out at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium in Delhi of Friday, Rising Pune Supergiant will take on home team Delhi Daredevils.

Pune stand at the third spot of the IPL points table with 16 points, having won 8 matches and lost 4. The team would like to bag two more points today which will take them at par with table-toppers Mumbai Indians who too have 18 points, also guaranteeing them a place in the play-offs.

In sharp contrast, Delhi are already out of contention of the play-offs and will only play to salvage some pride. If the Daredevils win today, they would turnout to be party spoilers for Pune, damaging their chances of qualifying for the play-offs.

Despite having a strong bowling line-up on paper, Daredevils have performed inconsistently in this season of IPL. The same applies to their batting. Their top and middle order have never fired in tandem. They did get back to winning ways and also beating the Gujarat Lions on Wednesday by two wickets, but it is just a classical example of too little, too late.

For Pune, elegant opening batsman Rahul Tripathi has been the find of the tournament, having scored consistently throughout this IPL season. Their batting looks even stronger with players like MSD, Ben Stokes and Steve Smith within their ranks. However, the only area of concern for Pune is the form of Ajinkya Rahane who has been failing at the top consistently.

On present form and team combinations, RPS do look a much more accomplished side to win today's encounter.
