IPL 2019 match 6 preview: KKR battle it out with KXIP in the backdrop of the mankading controversy
IPL and controversy are good bedfellows. In their previous match against the Rajasthan Royals, Kings XI Punjab skipper Ravichandran Ashwin raked up a controversy by mankading Jos Butler, who was going great guns after scoring 69 from 43 balls. Butler's dismissal eventually led To RR's downfall.

Kolkata Knight Riders face KXIP in match 6 of IPL 2019 in the backdrop of the mankading controversy. The match will be played at the Eden Gardens on Wednesday night.

Both teams have kicked off their respective IPL 2019 campaign with wins. While KKR had won match 2 of IPL 2019 at the Eden Gardens against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, KXIP won yesterday's match against RR, although the victory was overshadowed by the mankading controversy.

The spin trio of Sunil Narine, Kuldeep Yadav and Piyush Chawla could prove handful for the home side. On the other hand KL Rahul and Chris Gayle would be the batting mainstays for KXIP.

Head to head both sides have clashed 23 times, out of which the Kings have won 15 times. The match is expected to be an all Caribbean show of Gayle vs Russell. The bottom line is that KKR are a difficult side to beat at home.

The pitch is expected to play two-paced. The average fist innings score at the Eden Gardens is 175.
