IPL spot fixing will not be forgotten even if India beats Pakistan
The recent IPL controversy related to the Indian Premier League has disappointed Indian cricket fans, so much so that even a victory against arch rivals, Pakistan in the champions trophy will not help them forget the IPL fixing scandal, as the spot fixing controversy have moved them.

India will play their last match of the round robin stage later today at Edgbaston with India already having booked a seat in the semi-finals. The India-Pakistan rivalry on the cricket field is considered to be one of the most awaited fixtures in the champions Trophy 2013.

Priyanka, a cricket fan, feels that there is no way that one would be able to forget the IPL fixing controversy. “Fixing has spoilt the name of India and Indian cricket. Even if India wins its match against Pakistan, there is no chance that we are going to forget about the spot fixing, which took place,” she told NNIS. On the same lines, another cricket fan, Sameer said, “Even if India beats Pakistan, we will not forget spot fixing, as we have lost faith, as earlier in the IPL as well, there was fixing.

Initially, the can of beans opened after three Rajasthan players namely Ankeet Chavan, Ajit Chandila and Sreesanth were arrested for their role in the spot fixing controversy. But, later, it also brought into light that it was a huge scandal, which ran from Bollywood to team owners. It had become such a big issue that some people even claimed that the IPL should be scrapped for bringing the game into disrepute.

Another cricket fan, Faizan feels that the game should be played in a fair manner, as the money that players earn is sufficient enough. He said, “Whatever scope there existed for cricket, that has come down to a stupendous low level after the recent IPL spot fixing. I think that such fixing should be stopped and cricketers should play the game in a fair manner.” Surinder, a cricket fan, who has been hurt with the fixing controversy talks about his love for the game. “The spot fixing controversy has deeply hurt Indian cricket fans, who keep posters in their home and show their love. We wait for the match and we even make arrangements for inverter, generator if light goes, when the Indian team is playing.

These above reactions of the fans clearly establishes how they have been deeply moved by the scandal, when there was a time, where an Indian victory against Pakistan would mean everything to them. The scenario has changed amongst the Indian fans, who are sad with the things going on with IPL fixing controversy.

What seems to be unfair is the way, the game of cricket has come into bad reputation, when the spot fixing case has witnessed only 1 per cent of the IPL players getting involved in the controversy. But, no one is spared for a few guilty men.
