IPL: Strong Mumbai Indians can't take Rajasthan Royals lightly
Mumbai Indians will clash with Rajasthan Royals in the second qualifier match later tonight at Eden Gardens. The former lost against Chennai Super Kings and the latter defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad. The match between the two is a potential semi-final with CSK having already booked a place in the finals of the competition, which is scheduled to be played at Eden Gardens on 26 May.

Rahul Dravid feels Mumbai Indians will be under pressure to reach the finals, as they are seen as favourites. But having a superior team is no criteria for winning matches, which can be explained by the failure of big teams such as Delhi, Bangalore and Pune to reach the playoffs stage. So, this may well be a trick played by Rahul Dravid to put more pressure on Mumbai.

Rajasthan Royals has always remained an underdog in this edition of the IPL as it does not comprise big stars like Mumbai, which boasts of big players like Kieron Pollard, Mitchell Johnson, Lasith Malinga, Rohit Sharma and Dinesh Karthik who can instill fear in any opponent.

Rohit Sharma and Dinesh Karthik are placed at sixth and seventh position respectively in the highest run scorers list of IPL 2013. But, Rajasthan Royals are also not far off with Shane Watson and Ajinkya Rahane in the fifth and eighth position respectively.

Royals may not have huge names, but have a right blend of big hitters and anchor players, which has kept them in good stead so far. Rahul Dravid and Ajinkya Rahane are two players who can change their game according to the situation, and in Watson, Brad Hodge and Stuart Binny, they have power hitters who can change the course of the game in a matter of half an hour only.

But, when one looks at the bowling line up of Mumbai Indians, there is no denying the fact that Mumbai is superior. Harbhajan, Pragyan Ojha, Malinga, Johnson, and Pollard are regular wicket takers and it is this bowling unit, which might make the difference between the two sides. Rajasthan Royals only have two genuine wicket takers in the form of James Faulkner and Kevin Cooper, who have taken 27 and 17 wickets respectively.

The team, which wins the game, will not find it easy against CSK in the finals, which is in red hot form. They are one of the most successful IPL teams with two titles to their name already, whereas Royals have one and Mumbai still has to lift the IPL trophy aloft.
