Iran blames western powers for the killing of nuclear scientist
Iran has blamed western powers for the killing of its nuclear scientist. The incident will deepen the already strained relationships of the country with the US that has imposed sanctions and is asking countries like Japan to stop Iranian oil imports.

MOSTAFA AHMADI Roshan, a University professor and nuclear scientist at an Iranian nuclear facility has been killed in bomb blast along with his driver on Wednesday in Tehran, media reports said. The Iranian authorities have blamed the western powers for the killing to derail their nuclear enrichment programme.

IT IS said that two assailants on a motorbike attached a magnetic bomb to the car of Mostafa and blasted it. Many earlier killings of nuclear scientists in Iran have been carried out the same way. Iranian authorities hold that the killings of their nuclear scientists were the part of the plans of Western powers and their allies to halt Iran's uranium enrichment project.

Iran has claimed that their uranium enrichment project is for generating electricity and radioisotopes to treat cancer patients and other medical purposes. While accusing Israel's Mossad, CIA and British spy network for the scientist’s killing, Tehran has said that the western powers are their allies are supporting terrorism against their nuclear scientists and facilities.
