Is Anna the silver lining behind the ugly face of corruption?
Why Anna's crusade against corruption is mandatory? Is it really required? Do we really need a saint like Anna to wipe out corruption? The outcome of the development saga is limited to a certain class.

WHY ANNA’S crusade against corruption is mandatory? Is it really required? Do we really need saint like Anna to wipe out corruption? The outcome of the development saga is limited to a certain class. The development has not reached every nook and corner of the country. The rich-poor divide has widened over the years. Poverty is still there, mal-nourishment still persists, hunger deaths are still reported, females are still discriminated on the basis of gender, unemployment is surging and farmers still commit suicide.

If we are a force to reckon with then why these issues still persists? Where is the solution to these issues? Who is responsible? Yes, most of you guessed it right; it’s the rampaging corruption which is brutally murdering common man. Wherever you go, this menace persists. Visit any government establishment, hospital, bank, school, college, railway station, they all stink of corruption. If you are looking for a government job, only luck will save you from the clutches of corruption. Be ready to bribe babus, officers, otherwise kill your dream of getting a government job.

Rampaging corruption has been one of the key issues. Common man has been witnessing corruption since decades and wants to do something to eradicate it from the social fabric of the country. The emergence of Anna is a big sigh of relief for common man.

Politicos are dividing people to bake their political ambitions. We have seen how Lalu Yadav ruled Bihar; he did nothing except for supporting the anti-social elements, namely cheats, corrupt, scamsters and murderers, wasting his precious 15 years in power. The era has gone; Nitish’s arrival is swiftly altering the face of Bihar. The state of UP has been witnessing the same emotional blackmail of caste to cook breads of power. Maya, Mulayam are busy in their ugly political games, they hardly talk about development. Many MLAs and ministers of Maya are allegedly involved in rape, murder and extortion cases.

The system has been exploited by corrupt to loot the wealth of the nation. Commissions, judicial enquiries etc are established only to calm the indignation of public. In most of the cases, these have served as mere eyewash, and cover-up exercise. The system has failed to scuttle the ugly deeds of big sharks. Taking advantage of the corrupt system; they always manage to save their chameleon like pseudo faces. There is no accountability in the system.

Anna Hazare has come as a ray of hope for millions of Indians, a man with pristine image has swiftly developed ties with the middle class. Doctors, engineers, students, lawyers, government officers all are taking this opportunity to vent their ire against the system. Name any city and you will see how people have come out in open to save this wonderful nation from rampaging corruption, from the shade of embarrassing politicos and government servants.

Go to rural areas, some cities, still people are facing basic issues, meet educated boy/girl from middle class families, understand their plight, how they have been denied jobs as they failed to cough up bribe. Meet rape victims, learn how they were exploited by some headless, soiled politicians, criminals and when they tried to register FIRs, goons in police uniform exploited them. Enough is enough.

Some politicos, intellectuals are akin to headless chickens and rancid pickles; they will always come up with illogical, unintelligent explanation to criticize even the noblest out of the noblest cause. These cynics are from financially sound background, they render tall sermons from luxurious offices and have hardly done anything concrete for the weaker sections of the society.

Whether you like it or not, but it’s true that Anna is a phenomenon, his crusade has given a big ray of hope to millions of oppressed, poverty ridden people. Let’s not work as slaves in this country. The movement launched by Anna should go on, let’s support Jan Lokpal Bill proposed by Team Anna. It’s time to wipe out corruption and cleanse the social fabric from the dirt of corrupt leaders, IAS, IPS, clerks and others. Hats off to Anna, Jai Hind.
