Is Capt. Amarinder Singh bidding good-bye to Congress anytime soon?
The success of Akali-BJP in Punjab has put the Congress party in distress. A number of senior and seasoned leaders of Congress have joined the Akali Dal, and all those who left the Congress have blamed Capt. Amrinder Singh, former President PPCC and expressed dissatisfaction with his working style.

During the Moga bye-election, Capt. shifted his headquarter to the constituency itself for extensive campaigning in the villages but had he done the same in 2012 assembly elections and coordinated with his party workers and leaders, there was no question of people leaving the Congress and speaking against him.

Even in the Jaipur Chintan Shivir, Rahul Gandhi after becoming the vice president of Indian National Congress, while addressing the audience said in very clear terms that there is a need of change in the root level organizations because the shortcomings in the party have not been removed. By saying this, he attacked the founder of the party first. In other words, it was an indication towards his mother, Sonia Gandhi.

Perhaps, Capt Amarinder Singh could not understand the language of Rahul Gandhi, who is the shining star of Gandhi family now. He should have understood that a man who can raise fingers even at her mother, the sincerity of state presidents is nothing before him. Just three days back, with the removal of Capt. Amarinder Singh from presidentship of the state, the change in his statements is being noticed.

It is a matter of surprise that after the removal of Capt. Amarinder Singh, none of the Congress leaders has reacted and expressed his concern but at the same time, there is no open welcome to Partap Singh Bajwa, newly appointed Congress president. It looks as if the Congress is getting conscious in Punjab that there is a need of ‘Sanjeevani’ to keep it alive, but the question remains: who will bring that ‘Sanjeevani’ as no Hanuman is seen in the Congress.

The couplet fits well: “Capt. Ke jane par gam nahi, Na Bajwa ke aane ki khushi maani”

It is said that trees fall in heavy storms and small plants under it are also damaged. Similar is the position of Congress in Punjab. After the removal of Capt. from the post of President, some existing and former MLAs are feeling as orphans in the Congress party, and the silence of Congress is an indication towards big hurricane. And if various statements in the press are any indication, time is up for Capt. in the Congress party.
