Is Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal AAP's CM candidate in Punjab?
Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi and Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia yesterday said that people of Punjab should cast their votes in the upcoming elections assuming that Arvind Kejriwal will be the Chief Minister of Punjab.

Sisodia made the announcement while addressing a rally at Balongi village in Mohali. The announcement came in as a surprise as the party has not yet announced any chief ministerial candidate for Punjab.

"You should assume that Arvind Kejriwal is going to be the CM of Punjab. Whoever becomes the CM, it will be the responsibility of Arvind Kejriwal to ensure that all promises made to you are fulfilled," Sisodia said.

"We will not leave Punjab and sit in Delhiā€¦ You should vote assuming you are voting to make Arvind Kejriwal the Chief Minister. Vote in the name of Arvind Kejriwal," Sisodia added.

It is still unclear if Kejriwal, who has been the face of the party in the states where the party is contesting the elections, would be the CM candidate for the party in Punjab or not.

Sisodia's comments drew strong reactions from the opposition parties.

Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal described Sisodia's remarks as part of a "conspiracy to foist Kejriwal on Punjab" while Congress leader Capt Amarinder Singh said that Kejriwal had an "obsessive and abominable lust for Punjab's chief ministerial position".

"After months of beating around the bush, truth of Arvind Kejriwal and his nefarious ambitions comes out! What a sneaky little fellow!" Amarinder tweeted.

Sukhbir Singh Badal criticised the comments saying that the AAP had finally proved that it "doesn't trust Punjabis" to run Punjab. "By asking people to vote for Kejriwal as Punjab CM, Sisodia has exposed their plan; proves it doesn't trust Punjabis," Badal tweeted.
