Is Hooda protecting his sports minister Sukhbir Kataria?
A million dollar question being asked in political, administrative and journalistic circles of Haryana is, why Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda is defending his sports minister, Sukhbir Kataria, against whom at least half a dozen cases of bogus voting are registered in Gurgaon.

While Hooda's name has become synonymous with misuse of land acquisition act, Kataria's name is synonymous with alleged electoral malpractices. Kataria is accused of winning last assembly polls with the help of large number of bogus voting by him in connivance with pliable officials of food and supplies department, election officials and Police.

Interestingly despite repeated complaints to the top cops, no case was registered against Kataria, forcing the whistle blower Om Prakash Kataria, convenor of Voters awareness organisation to approach judiciary.

Judiciary deserves congratulations that it has ordered registration of at least six cases against Kataria and other officials. But the Gurgaon police is yet to interrogate him. After registration of the latest case, Alok Mittal, Police Commissioner, Gurgaon has said that the Police would act after receipt of court orders.

Kataria has enjoyed almost full term as legislator and it can be certainly said that the Gurgaon Police will not move even a centimetre but to speak of an inch in questioning Kataria as he allegedly enjoys the patronage of the CM. Interestingly opposition parties and even Aam Adami Party has also failed to make it an issue. Hooda is thankful to Kataria for converting his minority Govt., in majority Govt.

Addressing a rally at Gohana, Hooda had proudly declared that although the Congress party got forty seats but overnight he converted them to fifty-four, beating even the claims of Bhajan Lal.
