Pakistan has constantly denied it has anything to do with the Taliban, Mujahideen etc just as it holds that it never sold Nukes to others on the sly. Nothing has changed in 19 months since Mumbai in terms of discussion.
FOR THE world meeting between Indian Home Minister P Chidambaram and Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi may be the meeting of hope but question is that will Pakistan act on its statements?
Even after 19 months of attack, Pakistan is a country that continues to exist in a state of denial. Why Pakistan is in to the habit of denying anything and everything that involves terrorism? Not only India, but other countries of the world have also had a taste of Pakistan’s lies. Madeleine Albright, the ex-United States secretary, has once called Pakistan ‘an international migraine’. This is proving to be more then 100 per cent true and the whole world is suffering on its account. In almost every Islamic terrorist plot, whether it is successful or not, there is a Pakistani angle.
At times there has been evidence not just by India but like Rand Corporations, London School of Economics putting out reports that say very clearly that not only are those terrorist organisations operating inside Pakistan but they do get some sort of support from the establishment in Pakistan like the army and the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). Many foreign and local media have exposed aspects of the terror network that has long flourished in Pakistan – specific names, dates and addresses have been published, telecast and broadcast. But, each charge has been met with a shameless denial from every level of bureaucracy. Just as they denied the existence of their nuclear weapons programme for years, so they refuse to accept the presence of extremist terrorists in the country. Pakistan has constantly denied it has anything to do with the Taliban, Mujahideen etc just as it holds that it never sold Nukes to others on the sly. Nothing has changed in 19 months since Mumbai in terms of discussion.
I don’t think Pakistan will hand over voice samples of 26/11 handlers to India. It is just the international pressure that is forcing Pakistan to co-operate and in very few days Pakistan will do everything to get out of the situation. The whole world thinks that, talks between India and Pakistan will bring peace in both the countries. There have been numerous rounds of talks between the two countries without any results.
Pakistan has a continuous aggressive mindset towards India. Unless that attitude is changed, talks will never be fruitful. Pakistan has adopted an approach that it can’t live with Bharat. Pakistan’s politicians always try to be wise and friendly with the civilised world when they are outside or inside Pakistan or are in need of free aid, but the moment they reach Pakistan or foreign delegates left, they give up the relationship talks and are grabbed by their inner evil and the surrounding fundamentalists. The more they shake hands, the more they backstab.
I don’t think there will be any result of meetings. Pakistan will never be serious to do anything about the perpetrators of the 26/11 attacks. Their Prime Minister will be back in the business of hypocrisy once Indian Home Minister reaches India.
India has to take its own steps to safeguard its land and citizens and continues to set pressure on Pakistan. Pakistan government will do nothing to control the terrorism, it is beyond their control. Hope Pakistan is listening.
