Is the anti corruption movement a one-man show?
As doctors advise Anna Hazare complete rest and tell him to stop fasting for now, his team seems to have lost direction and have fallen short of ideas. Now they are asking for suggestions from people whether they should fast, campaign against congress or go back home.

WHAT STARTED with fervour and took up the entire country by a storm, has somehow lost its grandeur as Anna Hazare group looks lost and is now asking for suggestions from the people across the country to devise their next strategy. Their confusion became clear as a party member Arvind Kejriwal wrote an article that stated ‘the party was at crossroads and a false step at this crucial moment would be disastrous for the party and the cause’. With this Kejriwal also asked for suggestions that can help them at this time. By afternoon 500 to 600 email suggestions had poured in at the address that was mentioned in the article.

In spite of such tactics, senior party members of the anti-corruption movement say that they are not helpless, as indianexpress.com quoted senior lawyer Shanti Bhushan. Kejriwal in the article also rejects that the core team is anti Congress or pro BJP. The most important and the immediate problem, team faces at the moment is that if Anna is not present in the picture then there is no single voice giving direction. A number of voices in the form of Kiran Bedi, Santosh Hegde and Arvind Kejriwal are heard that is obviously confusing the public and the core team are not coming off as united. This show of poor leadership raises the question in people’s mind that if the core team is not united in their cause then how they can lead an entire country against corruption.

Arvind Kejriwal’s apparent article raised a number of eyebrows at the core committee. Anna Hazare on the other hand was admitted in the Sancheti Hospital on Dec 31, after suffering a heart infection. News of his discharge is going to give a semblance of balance in the core team, however there would not be any respite given the fact that he is expected to leave for Ralegan Siddhi village and take rest there. What next is the real question and it seems that slowly everyone is losing interest.
