The Maharana Pratap ISBT Kashmere Gate is all set to greet passengers with an air conditioned waiting lounge, food court, glass elevator, and escalators from next month. The revamped ISBT Kashmere Gate under Phase-I is complete, and will be ready for operation from end of next month. The Phase-I renovation is being done at a cost of Rs 75 crores. The 500-600 buses that had been diverted from this terminal to Anand-Vihar and Sarai Kale Khan ISBTs will soon be brought back.

Also, as a part of the project, structural strengthening and retrofitting of the existing building against earthquake has been carried out. At the terminal, security equipment like metal detectors has been installed for the security check of the passengers. High-resolution rotating cameras across the terminus have been haven been installed which are controlled by police personnel stationed at control room.

Other security equipment such as boom barriers and access controlled system for buses will also be put in place. However, final touches are yet to be done. Currently, the cleaning and maintenance work at the ISBT Kashmere Gate is still going on. The installation of a Public Information System (PIS) and Building Management System (BMS) is yet to be done. BMS will monitor and control the machinery like AC pumps.
