Ishrat Jahan case has started haunting back Congress
The new reality for Congress is that if you suppress truth for petty vicious political interests, you may gain something immediately but you will be finally haunted back by that very truth vigorously, because truth can't be suppressed permanently. Ishrat Jahan Case is just a proof which has now started haunting Congress, and will continue to haunt them till they are decimated.

Post the alleged fake encounter of Ishrat Jahan, Congress found ammunition to attack Narendra Modi. They could have done so by citing that terrorist or not, fake encounter is wrong and illegal. There was enough proof that the three of the other associates of Ishrat Jahan were dreaded terrorists, and accompanying dreaded terrorists in itself is sufficient to realize that Ishrat Jahan might have been a terrorist. Particularly the IB was under UPA rule, hence information regarding Ishrat Jahan's terrorist connection was known to the UPA government.

But Congress played their political game ignoring IB inputs of Ishrat's terrorist links and held Ishrat as innocent. Information can't be proof; hence Congress played such politics expecting that their bluff would be manageable. But Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) posted on their website, hailing Ishrat a martyr. That should have warned the Congress. But later LeT withdrew that post from their site. Congress thought that their bluff will go a long way.

In the meantime, the mother of Ishrat Jahan filed a PIL in the Gujarat High Court. By that time, David Headley had been arrested in the United States. NIA also interrogated him, thus establishing Isharat's terrorist links through David Headley's testimony. That means IB's input were substantiated by NIA. That's why UPA government had filed an affidavit citing that there was sufficient proof of Ishrat having links with terrorists.

Then suddenly the affidavit was changed. The paragraph on Ishrat Jahan's terrorist links was deleted in the revised affidavit. The idea behind the deletion might have been the fact that NIA interrogated David Headley in USA and the details were not known to the public, and the IB and NIA could be asked to remain silent on the issue. Then CBI was used to make Ishrat seem completely innocent.

Times changed, Modi came to power. David Headley became approver of 26/11 carnage and during his witness submission he confessed that Ishrat was part of an LeT module and it's woman operative. Congress and company immediately responded that they don't trust Headley. Then former IB special director Rajendra Kumar revealed that he was pressurized by Congress to implicate Narendra Modi in Ishrat Jahan fake encounter case. A few days back former home secretary revealed that the political bosses (read Congress) deleted the paragraph citing Ishrat as terrorist from the original affidavit. He further said that tracking Ishrat Jahan and her accomplices was one the best works done by the intelligence agencies.

Congress has now stopped even responding to these charges. More and more facts will come out in the future too, as I earlier said that truth can't be suppressed permanently. The claim that Congress wanted to eliminate Narendra Modi first physically and later judicially, making a terrorist a martyr, misusing government agencies is gaining momentum as people found merit in it.

The fact is that the affidavit was revised. Congress is not able to justify why the affidavit was changed. GK Pillai is so strong in stature that his words can't be easily dismissed. Further, Congress has the dubious record of interfering in CBI enquiries even if there is a court monitoring it. In the Coal Scam case, Congress minister Ashwini Kumar interfered, for which the Court slammed the UPA government and Ashwini Kumar had to lose his job.

One will always appreciate when a political party fights against its rival by fair means. But if a ruling party uses government machinery to settle political rivalry, it's undemocratic. But what will you say when a political party sides with terrorists for settling scores with its rival? Isn't turning a terrorist into an innocent for political interests the same as siding with terrorists? But Congress party doesn't appear to have learnt any lesson. Recently P. Chidambaram said that Afzal Guru was wrongly hanged.

Where is Congress's credibility now? Point to remember is that Congress's role in Netaji Subash Chandra Bose's case is yet to come out as those secrete files on him are being declassified. How will the present Congress party defend so many wrong doings?

My suggestion is that Congress should admit it's faults immediately. At least in Ishrat Jahan fake encounter case they should apologize. Next is they need to stop their antics to hold Parliament at ransom. If this Budget Session is also washed away for petty or no reasons, then the public will not pardon them. Congress must show some maturity thay are interested to win back some credibility, else even God can't protect them, as all wrong doings come back to haunt you.
