ISL - Indian Super League
ISL semi-final second leg: Kerala Blasters Vs Chennaiyin FC
After the drubbing at the hands of Kerala Blasters in the first leg of the semi-final, Chennaiyin FC looks to turnaround their second leg fixture. The match will be played tonight at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Chennai, where the home team needs to win by more than three clear goals to progress into the finals of the first edition of the Indian Super League.

With Chennai having lost 3-0 in the first leg, Chennaiyin FC would be under lot of pressure. Having not scored a single away goal in the first leg, the situation would be doubly difficult, if Kerala score an away goal.

Still, Chennaiyin FC is capable of progressing into the finals of the league, as they have been the best team in the round robin stages scoring goals for fun. Chennai would draw inspiration from their previous outings in the round robin stage, where they defeated Kerala home and away, though the scoreline may not have been hugely impressive.

The first goal is going to be very important in the context of the game. If Kerala scores, Channaiyin might not be able to pick up, but, if Chennaiyin FC scores early in the game, Kerala would be under immense pressure. The Kerala defense would come under constant attack. Sandip Nandy needs to be in great form to stop these Chennai players, who must have been upset with their performance.

Chennai would, to a large extent depend on the services of Elano to help the team reach the finals of the competition, though the player looked off colour in the last match. Apart from Elano, Indian striker Jeje Lalpekhlua need to deliver the goods, as Elano would be marked tightly if he regains his form.
