Isolated Pakistan must realise the message given to it by India
In the recently concluded 8th BRICS and BRICS-BIMSTEC outreach summits, one thing was common that apart from all other issues, terror was prominently featured.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's successful diplomatic efforts made all nations including China back India's version that there should be zero tolerance to terror.

Narendra Modi clearly pointed towards Pakistan, calling it a hub of terrorism when he said that the mothership of terrorism is in the neighbourhood of India. All BIMSTEC members mentioned terror with a bow and stood behind India in solidarity. While Russia, Brazil and South Africa whole heartedly echoed India's view, China also had to mention that terrorism needs to be tackled honestly.

I have said China had to mention in the sense that I think China might have felt isolated on the terror issue at the BRICS summit and the subsequent BRICS-BIMSTEC summit. When every country was talking about terrorism with indirect references to Pakistan, China was in no position to defend Pakistan, shattering all hopes for Pakistan. That I think, was a moral victory for Narendra Modi and India over China-Pakistan all-weather relationship.

If you surf through Pakistani newspapers, you will find a lot of misrepresentations like, "despite Modi's efforts, China defended Pakistan calling for political solutions", indirectly referring to political solutions for Kashmir. According to them, Russia also gave a cold shoulder to India by not at all referring to Pakistan etc. However misleading those news reports might be, but I don't think that it should be an issue with us. Pakistani media has every right to mislead its people. What's more important is that the Pakistani masters must get the message that India wanted to give them. The plain message is, quit harbouring terror or else you will get isolated and even your all-weather friend China won't be able to rescue you.

An editorial published in Pakistani newspaper 'The Nation' is very important as it gives a stern message to Pakistani establishment. The editorial is titled "International isolation looms as Pakistan continues to differentiate between 'good' and 'bad' non-state actors".

The bottom line is that the endeavour of Modi government to give a stern message to Pakistan has been accomplished. Moreover, it has also exposed Pakistan's many false propagandy such as Russia is inching closer to Pakistan due to increasing Indo-American friendship, China's clout will make BIMSTEC member countries not to toe Indian line etc. Narendra Modi government has very meticulously deliberated an aggressive diplomacy to make sure that all countries rally behind India on terrorism.

Many would also be wondering how Modi achieves so many diplomatic wins. Technically speaking, Pakistan's sponsoring terror is of no business to the world's biggest powers and many other countries too have never bothered to give a damn to India's plea except some lip service. But during Narendra Modi's tenure as PM, suddenly India's dominance at the international level in front of some of the most powerful countries and their leaders has begun to show.

But what's so special about Modi's diplomacy?

Before Modi became the Prime Minister, many used to call him the king of organising events. But what Modi has displayed is that he is the king of utilising opportunities for Indian interests. He has a special quality to discover advantage over any issue. For example, let's think a bit deeply that India is an arms buying country like Pakistan. Thus, those countries which sell arms/weapons etc usually want to dictate their own terms. But Modi has reversed this trend. He did weapons deals worth billions of dollars with Russia on India's conditions such as part of the merchandise to be made in India keeping in mind his concept of 'make in India' and then also compelling Russia to support India diplomatically.

On the other hand, India is a seller to BIMSTEC members, be it services, technology or other sectors, yet he negotiated with those countries giving maximum advantage to India. It proves the sharp mind and out-of-the-box thinking of the Indian Prime Minister. China realised that things are going in favour of India and it can't afford to get isolated in supporting Pakistan. China's clout remains ineffective due to Modiplomacy.

Pakistan has to realise that in international politics, it's just a dog eats a dog which means that every nation looks at its own national interest first. There are no such concepts like an all-time friend or all-time enemy. What only matter are the offerings a nation has and how the leadership of that nation bargains with foreign countries in marketing those offerings (geographic, demographic, social or others) it owns. Unfortunately, Pakistan has only one thing to offer, that's terror, and terror can never be an asset but rather a liability.

I think that the Pakistani establishment must listen to the message given by India or else I'm afraid the nation is heading towards oblivion.
